Amongst them we simply had to include the Amaretto Sour, and to celebrate summer we thought we’d share the not so top secret recipe…
Our version includes fresh egg white, creating a beautifully light foam on the top of the drink. Sours, as a rule, have traditionally included egg white as an emulsifier that gives a beautifully soft feel. In case you were wondering, it doesn't taste like egg either!
This drink is fragrant and sweet with a smooth, velvety texture; the ultimate Salcombe Sun-downer!
50ml Saliza traditional amaretto
25ml Fresh lime juice
25ml Fresh lemon juice
Two dashes angostura bitters
20ml Sugar syrup
One egg white
1) Pop all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
2) Strain into a glass over ice.
If you're feeling adventurous or simply don’t like the flavour of amaretto, why not try it with whiskey, gin or rum? Each gives its own unique taste and they're all favourites from our point of view!
