We have few adjustments to our opening times for the occasion, but in addition to the option for weekday breakfasts at the Cracking Crab, there’s lots of other lovely things to look forward to both in Salcombe and Polzeath over the autumn break… here’s a few favourites!
Few things beat an autumn walk in this beautiful part of the world; the South West Coast Path is one of South Devon’s most prized assets with those spectacular views.
Of course, we can’t help but feel that a walk is significantly enhanced by the promise of lunch, afternoon tea or an ostentatiously creamy mug of hot chocolate afterwards, but that’s just us…
The wonderful men and women on the Lifeboat are fundraising as well as raising awareness at the same time as giving us all a head start on our Christmas shopping, with the RNLI Autumn Fair from 10am until 2pm at Holy Trinity Church in Salcombe.
Entry is £1 for adults and free for children, and inside you will find a range of RNLI stalls. It will be the first of many events running from September 2018 through 2019 celebrating 150 years of the RNLI Salcombe Lifeboats, serving not only Salcombe but also the surrounding villages, towns and waterways.
Sometimes the simple things are the best, and a cup of coffee and a slice of cake while the children get stuck into the dressing up box or our very own book - Why the Prawn’s Pink - is something you can enjoy, whatever the weather.
From breakfast through until dinner, we will be enjoying the last of the summer sun (hopefully) at both The Cracking Crab and The Winking Prawn. Our newly designed garden at The Crab really comes into its own for afternoon drinks before a seafood dinner (don’t forget to book!), and what better way to start the day than a breakfast buffet with sea views?!
While the annual Jesus Longboard Classic surfing event has been postponed until November, surfing is all part of a holiday in Polzeath, so grab your wetsuit and head to the beach… then pop by for a breakfast to warm those cockles.
Ending half term with a thrill, we’re celebrating Halloween at Island Street Bar & Grill with live music from Rob Hunt and DJ Jack Smith and a fancy dress competition where first prize is a £50 Island Street Voucher, second prize is a £20 Island Street Voucher and third prize is a cocktail of choice from our brand new menu!
